Puravankara Provides ₹50 Crore Corporate Guarantee to Starworth Infrastructure for Equipment Financing via SBM Bank
Puravankara Backs Starworth's Equipment Financing with ₹50 Crore Guarantee
Puravankara Limited has issued a ₹50 crore corporate guarantee for its wholly-owned subsidiary, Starworth Infrastructure & Construction Limited. This supports the subsidiary's purchase of construction equipment and materials from SBM Bank (India) Limited. The announcement was made on March 18, 2026, in compliance with applicable disclosure requirements.
Purpose and Structure
The guarantee arrangement supports the subsidiary's operational requirements for construction equipment and materials procurement. The management has assessed that, at this point in time, there is no direct impact of this guarantee on the listed parent company.
The practice of using corporate guarantees to support subsidiary financing is common among leading Indian real estate developers such as DLF Limited, Godrej Properties, Prestige Estates Projects, and Oberoi Realty. This approach helps subsidiaries access capital for essential equipment and project execution, ultimately strengthening the overall capabilities of the group.
Starworth's Role in the Group
Starworth Infrastructure and Construction Limited (SICL) is a wholly-owned subsidiary, the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) arm of Puravankara - focused on technology-enabled construction solutions. Established in 2008 as an independent general contracting firm, SICL was envisioned to serve external contracts and back-end services for the Puravankara group.
SICL has built over 21 msft across India, spanning residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure sectors. The company is currently executing about 10 msft of projects across India.
Subsidiary Performance and Order Book
As of March 31, 2025, Starworth Infrastructure & Construction Limited reported revenue of ₹434 crore. The subsidiary has secured multiple large contracts in recent months, expanding its external order book. Starworth Infrastructure & Construction Ltd has secured a ₹311.18 crore residential construction contract for the Sattva AANGANE project in Bengaluru, spanning 3.04 million square feet with a 37-month execution timeline. The subsidiary has also secured a Letter of Intent for a project worth approximately ₹311.18 crores, scheduled for completion within 37 months.
Financial Liability Treatment
The corporate guarantee represents a contingent liability for Puravankara Limited. However, the company has stated that there is currently no impact of this guarantee on its operations, as it has been provided on behalf of a wholly owned subsidiary that forms part of the consolidated group.
If Starworth fails to meet its obligations, Puravankara Limited would be required to repay the ₹50 crore loan to SBM Bank (India) Limited. The transaction was disclosed on March 18, 2026, in compliance with SEBI regulations.
Puravankara's Broader Strategy
Founded in 1975, Puravankara Limited is one of India's most admired and trusted developers among the top real estate companies in India. The Company has its headquarters in Bengaluru. The use of subsidiary guarantees is part of Puravankara's ongoing capital management approach. Providing corporate guarantees for subsidiary financing is a recurring strategy for Puravankara.
The financing arrangement reflects the parent company's confidence in Starworth's operational capacity and project pipeline expansion. Equipment financing through secured bank loans is standard practice in the construction sector, enabling contractors to deploy modern machinery across active projects without depleting working capital.
